Best Study Spots on the Idaho State University Campus

Best Study Spots on the Idaho State University Campus

With the change in weather, sunny outside study sessions have come to an end. Here are some of our top picks for indoor study spots to help you prepare for finals. We have all heard that studying is crucial in college considering most of your learning is done outside of the classroom. Therefore, it is essential that you find the perfect study spot. Studying in your dorm may not always be the best option due to many distractions or perhaps you need to find a place for studying in between classes, which is why we have compiled a list of the most popular places on Idaho State University’s campus.

Idaho State College of Business’ Student Community Center (SCC)

This spot is a great option for business students, especially for in between classes. If you have a small break between classes and prefer not to leave the College, this could be best for you. Although this space is much smaller compared to other spots, this area works great for group projects. Students are able to reserve one of the breakout rooms via the College’s main office to have a quiet and private area. You can also reserve a breakout room online. There is also a small meeting room that includes a projector; perfect for a club meeting. The last benefit to using the Student Community Center is the printer students can use to print out anything for free.

Eli M. Oboler Library

The library is perfect for someone who is looking for a quiet place to study. Recently, a new Starbucks was built inside, so you can grab a quick coffee before getting to work on homework. The library has also opened their main floor more and added additonal seating. Much like the College of Business’ Student Community Center, you can reserve a study room for a more private studying area. There is a few computers available as well for students to use. Another benefit to choosing this spot is it is close to Rendezvous housing and about center of campus.

Pond Student Union Building (SUB)

The Student Union Building is probably the most popular area for students to use for studying. There are a few restaurants nearby to grab a bite while working on homework. It is a very wide open space and there are tables big enough to accommodate for large groups. This spot is also close to many colleges on the Quad and has a large parking lot right nearby. If you are wanting to take a break from studying, you can check out the Games Center, Craft Shop, Bookstore, the Bengal Theater and more. Overall, this is a great place for both studying and taking a break to destress from classes.

Rendezvous

The last spot on our list is the Rendezvous building. This building houses dormrooms, classrooms, foodcourts and various seating areas. So not only would you not have to stray from your dorm, but you have a lot of options for grabbing some food while studying. There are also computer labs with printing services. The general seating area is not as big as the Student Union Building, but there is still a good amount of tables to sit at. If you happen to have classes in the Rendezvous, this is a nice spot for between classes as well.

If you are looking for the perfect study spot, we have compiled a list of four places you can check out on Idaho State University’s campus. The Student Community Center in the College of Business, Library, Student Union Building and Rendezvous are some of the most popular areas to use for studying. Check out each space to determine which spot works best for you or use a combination of all throughout your schooling.
