Ramona Strahan Henderson

Ramona Strahan Henderson Scholarship Endowment

The Ramona Strahan Henderson Scholarship Endowment was established in memory of Ramona by her children. She was born in Jerome, Ariz., in 1905, and moved to Pocatello at the age of 15. She enrolled in the commerce program at the Idaho Technical Institute and received a vocational commerce certificate in 1925. Ramona was employed as a secretary for the Bannock County agricultural agent until her marriage to Robert D. "Doug" Henderson in 1927. They had four children, Geneva, John, Bette, and David, all of whom attended Idaho State University Ramona was active in many civic organizations, both in Rexburg, where she lived for many years and, upon her return to Pocatello. She was always proud of her association with ISU, and was an active supporter and friend. She was honored as a "Golden Bengal" in 1975. She died in Las Vegas, Nevada at the age of 91.
