The Idaho State University Economics Club is a student-led organization that brings together students who are interested in economics, business, and understanding how the world works. Open to students from all majors, the club creates a space where economic ideas can be explored in a practical, engaging, and fun environment.
One of the main goals of the Economics Club is to connect classroom learning with real-world economic thinking. During meetings, members often discuss current economic issues such as inflation, labor markets, global trade, and public policy. These conversations help students see how the economic concepts they study apply to everyday decisions, business strategies, and global events.
At the same time, the club keeps meetings interactive and approachable. Many events are designed to make economics engaging and social. Members have participated in activities like economics-themed Kahoot competitions, poker nights, and bingo events where students can relax, meet new people, and build connections within the College of Business. Meetings include pizza or other food, giving members a chance to bond and continue conversations in a casual and welcoming setting. These events make the club welcoming for both economics majors and students who are simply curious about the field.
The Economics Club also provides opportunities for professional growth. Guest speakers and networking events allow students to hear directly from fellow Bengals who majored in economics and are now working professionals in fields such as finance, public policy, and entrepreneurship. These conversations give members insight into potential career paths while helping them build valuable professional connections.
By combining discussion, professional development, and fun activities, the ISU Economics Club gives students a chance to explore economics in a way that goes far beyond the classroom.
