Like Mitochondria, I’m a Powerhouse! :D

Hi! My name is Xavier, but I go by a lot of nicknames. I’m from Meridian, Idaho, where I was born and raised. I’m also a first-generation student from a low-income background. Reading is my favorite pastime, especially Sci-Fi and fantasy books. I also love hanging out with my friends and family. From movie nights to board games, these activities serve as an outlet for relaxation. Also, biology is my jam. I love learning about the human body and the tiny alien world beneath our skin. Although, the most important thing about me is that I’m always striving to do my best no matter what I’m doing.

On and off campus, there’s a lot of activities I’m proud to be a part of. I volunteer at the Pocatello Free Clinic in helping to provide healthcare to those in need. I’m also an undergraduate TA for an Advanced Anatomy & Physiology lab section. I love teaching others about something I’m passionate about. I also work as a research assistant in a Developmental Neurophysiology lab, where I will present my work as an Honors Thesis. Before my current jobs, I worked as a CNA at Portneuf Medical Center on the Medical-Surgical floor.
