Crash-out while I rock out!
Hi, I’m Madison, but you can call me Maddie! I am studying multiplatform journalism and professional writing with the hopes of graduating to become a journalist. I love storytelling and writing, and it’s been a passion of mine since I was younger. I want to make sure everyone’s voice has the opportunity to be heard and that there is a little bit of light in the dark news we see everyday. I’m working as a podcast co-host on Sustainable Idaho and will be continuing my work at  ISU’s newspaper, The Bengal, as the new Editor-in-Chief!

In high school, I was editor of the yearbook and editor for the school’s student journalism podcast. Outside of school though, I spend my time reading, painting with about every art medium (don’t ask about chalk pastels though), skiing, doing archery, and participating in my county 4-H. I have raised market goats for the fair, and I usually say that’s the animal I’m the most like! I’m very close with my extended family back home and I also have two younger sisters who I miss dearly.

The biggest piece of advice I have for new students is to just not worry too much about everybody else. I remember starting school and worrying about how I didn’t have a job right away or how I didn’t make friends as quickly as the people around me. However, after a while I realized that it was for the best. I was able to settle in, get used to being away from home, and wait for the job I wanted. Relax and feel comfortable to reach out for essay help, crash-outs, song recommendations, or study tips! I look forward to seeing and hearing from you as a mentee or as a friend.
