Medication management therapy is a treatment system used by mental health professionals to ensure that patients are receiving ideal results from the prescription medications that they are taking. When used in combination with talk therapy, medication evaluation and management is often the most effective treatment for many mental health conditions. Under close observation from a trained medical professional, clients can be assessed, prescribed proper medication, and monitored while they use it.

What to expect
A trained medical professional will give you an initial checkup similar to what a primary care provider might do. This checkup is called an assessment, and provides an overview of your symptoms and review of current medications. If medication is prescribed, the professional will educate you about medication uses, possible side effects, and a plan of action.

What are the benefits of Medication Management and Evaluation?

Medications are often an important part of the treatment of many mental illnesses including; depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, various anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, sleep problems, attention deficit disorders, and more.

Medications can help alleviate mental health symptoms and help you live a more fulfilling life. However, medication is not a cure-all. Research studies indicate that medication is often best used in conjunction with talk therapy to treat mental health symptoms.
