Leo Shan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication, Media, and Persuasion at Idaho State University. He completed his Ph.D. in Mass Communications at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. He studies how people's perceptions of media—whether a source seems biased or credible, whether a claim has been fact-checked, whether news was sought out or simply encountered—shape what they do. His work has appeared in Computers in Human Behavior, Public Opinion Quarterly, and Media and Communication. At Idaho State, he teaches social media and graphic design. He previously worked as a consultant in digital media design at UW–Madison's DesignLab.
