The Dimensions of Wellness is a holistic model representing the many aspects or dimensions of life, including physical, emotional, spiritual, social, environmental, financial, occupational, and intellectual domains. Embracing a multidimensional approach to wellness is a positive and continuous process of growth and change, and your path to achieving your full potential! “Mindfully focusing on wellness builds resilience and enables individuals to thrive amidst life’s inevitable personal and professional challenges.” - National Wellness Institute INTELLECTUAL WELLNESS: Involves curiosity, responsible decision-making, critical evaluation of information, learning from experiences, embracing new ideas, seeking challenges for personal growth, and nurturing intellectual stimulation both in formal education and everyday life. PHYSICAL WELLNESS: Encompasses optimal body functioning through regular physical activity, a well-balanced diet, informed health decisions, injury and illness prevention, and the capability to perform daily activities effectively. EMOTIONAL WELLNESS: Involves being aware of and embracing feelings, expressing and managing emotions, cultivating self-esteem, self-control, & determination, addressing conflicts constructively, assessing limitations, fostering autonomy, coping with stress, & maintaining a positive outlook on life. SPIRITUAL WELLNESS: Involves acknowledging the search for meaning and purpose, living in alignment with personal values and beliefs while practicing tolerance towards others, and cultivating a deep appreciation for the depth and expanse of life and forces that exist in the universe. SOCIAL WELLNESS: Entails understanding and fulfilling social roles harmoniously, communicating and interacting effectively with others, recognizing personal significance in society, and fostering positive relationships grounded in mutual commitment, trust, and respect. ENVIRONMENTAL WELLNESS: Includes understanding and appreciating our earth including our impact on it, actively seeking ways to preserve and improve sustainability and environmental conditions for all, and cultivating harmonious indoor living environments to support well-being. FINANCIAL WELLNESS: Refers to living within your means and managing your money effectively including budgeting, debt management, saving for the future, and the ability to meet financial goals and handle unexpected expenses with satisfaction. OCCUPATIONAL WELLNESS: Involves leveraging personal strengths in fulfilling work, finding satisfaction in chosen professions, positively contributing to society, and balancing career aspirations with other life domains.
