eLearning Technology, Policies, and Resources at ISU

The following tools are available to use in the development and delivery of your online, hybrid, or blended course within the Moodle ISU learning environment. Idaho State University has implemented EIT accessibility policies. Moodle is a learning platform designed to provide educators, administrators, and learners with a single robust, secure and integrated system to create personalized learning environments. Moodle ISU is Idaho State University's online learning management system for academic courses. 

G Suite for Education 

G Suite for Education is the same set of apps that you know and love—Gmail, Docs, Drive, Calendar, Hangouts, and more— but designed with new intelligent features that make work easier and bring teachers and students together.


Zoom is a web conferencing system (video-centric) with video, audio, whiteboard, chat, application sharing, polling, breakout rooms and other tools to engage students in a synchronous (live) online environment.


Snagit is a screenshot program that captures video display and audio output.

HTML5 Package

H5P is a free and open-source content collaboration framework based on JavaScript. H5P is an abbreviation for HTML5 Package and aims to make it easy for everyone to create, share and reuse interactive HTML5 content.


Turnitin provides instructors with the tools to prevent plagiarism, engage students in the writing process, and provide personalized feedback. 

Office 365 Education

Students and educators at eligible institutions can sign up for Office 365 Education for free, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and now Microsoft Teams, plus additional classroom tools.

Grackle Docs

Grackle Docs is an add-on that extends the accessibility of Google Docs by automatically checking all aspects of your document and advising you how to make things better.


Loom is a video recording tool that helps you instantly create shareable videos. With Loom, you can record your camera, microphone, and desktop simultaneously to create narrated presentations or how-to videos. Loom is permanently free for educators and students.


Examity offers live online proctoring for academic institutions & universities by using a webcam to monitor students taking exams online to prevent cheating.


ProctorFree is an on-demand, convenient, and cost-effective online proctoring solution for education and corporate environments.


Pressbooks is an open-source content management system designed for creating books. It is based on WordPress and can export content in many formats for ebooks, webbooks, or print.
