Mark Cooper

Mark Cooper is an Instructional Designer who works with faculty to create new online courses and improve upon existing online courses. He has over 14 years of professional work experience as an instructional designer, eLearning developer, and organizational development consultant in the corporate sector and a deep passion for learning and development and principles of instructional design.

Mark’s education includes a B.S. in Marketing and an M.B.A. with a focus in Information Technology and Organizational Development from Point Park University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Mark is a Certified Peer Reviewer through Quality Matters.

Sacha Johnson

Sacha is excited to be part of the ITRC team and to support ISU faculty as they design and develop multimedia materials and select instructional technology-oriented tools. Prior to coming to the ITRC, Sacha worked as an Instructional Technologist for ISU’s Department of Biological Sciences.

Sacha earned a B.A. in Mass Communication, an M.Ed. in Instructional Technology, and a Ph.D. in Instructional Design. Her research and instructional interests include self-directed and scenario-based learning, learner motivation, adaptive instruction, and virtual laboratory simulations. She is passionate about helping faculty use technology to create authentic and meaningful online learning experiences that foster student learning.

Lisa Kidder

Lisa Kidder works with the ITRC team in supporting online course delivery systems. She has over 12 years experience in education and over 10 years integrating technology in education.

Lisa's education includes a B.A. in French and Chemistry Education from Brigham Young University, a M.A. in Educational Technology from Pepperdine University, and a Ph.D. in Instructional Design from Idaho State University. She is constantly learning and looking for ways to improve teaching and incorporate technology.

Prior to coming to the ITRC Lisa taught a variety of subjects in K-12 schools; supported faculty in incorporating technology; and spent several years teaching and supporting teacher candidates at Loyola Marymount University. Her love of teaching and learning along with varied subject interests helps her to match content with delivery.

Paul Lynch

Paul Lynch is an Instructional Designer in the Instructional Technology Resource Center (ITRC), working with faculty to create new courses and improve existing courses. Prior to joining the ITRC, Paul spent several years as an educator, working in both elementary schools and higher education. As an educator, Paul was excited about incorporating technologies into music education.


Paul’s education includes a B.M. in Music Performance from the University of Idaho, M.M. and D.M.A. in Music Performance from Arizona State University. Paul continues to support faculty and staff in incorporating technologies effectively into their courses. Paul is a Certified Peer Reviewer through Quality Matters.

Ryan Randall - IDP

Ryan Randall is an Instructional Designer in the ITRC, working to help faculty develop engaging and accessible online courses. Before coming to the ITRC, Ryan spent several years teaching students and collaborating with faculty as the College of Western Idaho Library's Instruction Coordinator. He previously taught First-Year Writing and Humanities courses at a number of colleges and universities.

Ryan's education includes a B.A. and M.A. in English from the University of California, Riverside, an M.A. in Visual and Cultural Studies from the University of Rochester, and an M.L.S. in Library Science from Indiana University. He is currently working on his dissertation project for ISU's Ph.D. in English and the Teaching of English.

Ryan is enthusiastic about helping faculty adopt or adapt high-quality open educational resources (OER), as well as create online learning environments that improve outcomes for every learner.

Kim Tomkinson, an Instructional Designer in the ITRC, works to help faculty create unique learning experiences for students through the use of technology and evidence-based learning theory and best practices. She is a passionate advocate for open educational resources (OER) and works to help faculty successfully implement these and other content into their courses. 


Kim has worked in higher education for over 20 years in various capacities including online course design and support, advising, teaching, and administration. She has also taught at the K-12 level and has experience in instructional coaching. She earned her B. A and M.S degrees from Boise State University in Spanish Education and Instructional and Performance Technology, respectively. Kim is a Certified Peer Reviewer through Quality Matters.
