What is the Mobile Museum?
The mobile museum is a collaboration between the Idaho Museum of Natural History (the State of Idaho’s official natural history museum, located in Pocatello) and the David B. Jones Foundation (a nonprofit dedicated to providing funding for natural history education around Earth’s history. Pocatello has long been the hub for IMNH Education, but Idaho is large and every Idahoan deserves to learn about our State’s amazing natural history. The program aims to bridge the gap between our collections in Pocatello and the broad areas of Idaho outside of the Pocatello area. The van has an exhibit on Idaho’s dinosaurs and is equipped for both parking lot exhibitions as well as auditorium and classroom visits. In either case, participants will get to experience an Idaho dinosaur skeleton, Idaho dinosaur nests, skulls, and hands-on activities related to Idaho’s dinosaur record!
