Justin Brown

Dr. Justin Brown is a Senior Structural Engineer at ISL Engineering, specializing in timber engineering and seismic design. He obtained his Ph.D. in Structural and Earthquake Engineering from the University of Canterbury in New Zealand. He is passionate about timber design, seeking elegant and aesthetically appealing structural solutions. His Ph.D. research at the University of Canterbury was focused on post-tensioned cross-laminated timber core-wall systems and timber connections with steel dowels, self-tapping screws, and carpentry joints. He currently leads projects across North America delivering timber structures.
