ISU Tuition Discounts
Idaho State University offers tuition reduction for eligible employees, their families, and employees of certain Idaho education agencies. These discounts are designed to make ISU more affordable while prioritizing benefits for ISU employees.

To be eligible for tuition reduction, the employee must be hired on or before the beginning of the academic term and forms must be completed by the applicable deadline.
Eligibility, credit limits, and program participation vary. Contact ISU to confirm details before enrolling.
*Tuition Reduction Forms must be filled out each semester. If a student is taking classes in more than one semester and does not fill out a new form with the new classes for the next semester, tuition reduction will not be applied. We can not back date forms to cover previous classes.
*Each form approval only covers the classes listed on the form

- Get Registered for classes
- Before the start date of the current semester fill out the appropriate tuition reduction form found above
- The DocuSign form will go to all the places it needs to go, no need to print or hand deliver the form
- Pay for Classes
*If you decide to take more classes after you filled out your first form please fill out an additional form listing all the classes you are planning to attend. Pay close attention and select the appropriate form for the number of credits you are planning to take. Forms that contain more than 6 credits that are not on the correct form will be not be approved.

Class and professional fees charged at published rates
The tuition reduction program, reduces tuition fees only. There are a few programs at Idaho State University that do not have any tuition related costs and are supported by online program fees instead. These programs are not eligible for the tuition reduction program.
These programs that are not eligible can be found on the Student Tuition and Fees Distribution website. Please make sure you locate and select the year you will be enrolled and look for the section labeled ONLINE PROGRAM FEES to confirm your program is not listed and is eligible for reduction.

Form must be completed 14 days prior to the start of semester classes
Up to 50% off base resident tuition and consolidated mandatory fees
Discount applied after Pell, SEOG, and ISU-funded scholarships
FAFSA Required
ISU will discount up to 50% of dependent base resident tuition and consolidated mandatory fees for undergraduate programs. This discount will be applied after all other forms of grant aid have been applied, specifically including the Federal Pell Grant and the Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG), as well as any internally funded scholarships. Dependents must complete the FAFSA to be considered for this discount and submit all required verification documents.

Peer institution and state education employees currently enrolled in an online or excluded program will be granted the $5 per credit plus the $20 per semester rate for their current program through FY2027.
