Propose a new Gen Ed Course/Assessment Plan:

GERC considers and approves all courses included in ISU's General Education Program to ensure the courses appropriately meet the required learning outcomes for their respective Objectives.

1.  To request a new Gen Ed course, or to add an existing course to the General Education Program, please fill out and submit this short New Gen Ed Course Proposal Request Form.

Within 3-5 working days you will receive a link by email to your customized New Gen Ed Course Proposal Form in Google Docs.  Please complete the form in Google Docs and have your Department Chair and Dean/Associate Dean sign the Google Doc proposal form.  DO NOT USE DocuSign!

2.  You will also need to request a separate Gen Ed Assessment Plan form, which will be provided to you in the same manner as the Gen Ed course proposal.

3.  All prospective new Gen Ed courses will also require a catalog change proposal be submitted to UCC (Undergraduate Curriculum Council) following their process as presented on the UCC website.  New Gen Ed courses can be included on existing UCC proposals; no separate UCC proposal is required.

You can monitor the progress of your Gen Ed Course Proposals and Assessment Plans from request through GERC's review and approval process via these two tracking sheets:
