- Assist Finance with special projects
- Danika Averett began working in Facilities as our student Office Assistant in April 2024 and transitioned into her current role as a student Finance Assistant intern just a few months later. Since then, she has become a very valuable member of both the Facilities and Finance teams, consistently delivering high-quality, detail-oriented work. Her positive attitude and presence make her a pleasure to work with. She is on track to graduate next fall with a Bachelor's degree in both Accounting and Finance.
- Danika’s favorite part about working within the department is the people that she gets to work with. She appreciates the supportive, friendly environment that makes each day enjoyable. She takes pride in knowing that her work behind the scenes helps keep the university running smoothly- contributing to the success of students, staff, and faculty alike.
- Outside of work, Danika enjoys hiking, playing the piano, watching her favorite movies and TV shows, playing board games, and spending time with friends and family. She’s a big fan of anything made with potatoes—especially French fries—and loves dining at Red Robin or Rupe’s. At home, she has one cat and two adorable bunnies.

Chris Arvas
Drafter Assistant CPI (Career Path Intern)

- Develop a general understanding of all aspects of Drafting- including policies, procedures, and processes
- Gain experience by creating and developing CAD and other drawings
- Help with the day-to-day operations of the Facilities Drafting department
- Provide support with special projects and requests
- Chris Arvas is a student intern Drafter Assistant with the Facilities department and has been with the team for several months. During this time, he has been gaining valuable hands-on experience and developing real-world drafting skills. His supervisor, Ed Isla, is very pleased with his performance and appreciates the positive contributions that he brings to the department. Chris is on track to graduate in 2026 from the CADD program.
- Chris shares that his favorite part about working in Facilities is the strong sense of community and camaraderie. He takes pride in knowing that his work helps support and improve the university.
- Outside of work, Chris enjoys building LEGO sets, going golfing, and spending time with his loyal, old dog (Baxter). A big fan of Mo’ Bettah’s restaurant, he is very excited about the new location that just opened up in Pocatello.

Karl Parsons
Space Planner Assistant CPI (Career Path Intern)

- Furniture layout and procurement
- Support with special projects and assignments
- Karl Parsons has been with Facilities for about a year and a half, where he is currently serving as a Space Planner student intern. Prior to this role, he worked in the department as a Drafter Assistant student intern, gaining hands-on experience that continues to support his growth. His dedication and efforts are greatly appreciated by the team. He is set to graduate next May with his degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Karl’s favorite part of working with Facilities is the opportunity to explore buildings across campus. He takes pride in helping ISU become a more efficient and welcoming place for students through his work on space planning surveys and projects.
- Outside of work, Karl enjoys running and rock climbing. His favorite place in town to eat is Oliver’s restaurant. While he doesn’t have pets of his own, he loves spending time with his family’s dog (Wooly) and his in-laws’ dog (Charli).
