Pre-Dietetics

Pre-dietetics coursework gets you prepped to major in nutrition and dietetics.  ISU has agreements with other colleges that help you smoothly transfer into our program:

  • BYU-Idaho.
  • Boise State University.

We also offer the opportunity to build friendships through the Nutrition and Wellness Club, develop leadership skills through the Phi U Honor Society, and hone experience through experiential course assignments.

Bachelor of Science

Nutrition is the science of how our body uses nutrients and other substances in food and their influence on health and disease. 

Dietetics is the practice of nutrition. It is the application of nutrition science principles to the health of individuals and communities.

Masters/Dietetic Internship

Effective January 1, 2024, the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) requires a minimum of a master’s degree to be eligible to take the credentialing exam to become a registered dietitian nutritionist. 

Good news...ISU has a combined MS in Nutrition/Dietetic Internship program. This program allows you to get a Master of Science in Nutrition at the same time as fulfilling your practicum requirement. Our program also includes a prep class for the credentialing exam. And, we've got an excellent pass rate!
