Spring 2024 Biology Student Spotlight

Mya McHugh showing off her Student spotlight Award

The Spring 2024 Biology Student Spotlight Award goes to Mya McHugh!

Mya is a great scholar, teacher, researcher, and mentor. Along with maintaining her academic excellence, Mya has tutored many students in our department to the satisfactory completion of organic chemistry. She has been an integral part of Dr. Ray's research lab team for the past 2 years and has greatly contributed towards a forthcoming publication, including through her receipt of an INBRE fellowship in summer 2023. Last month, Mya presented her research and won poster presentation awards at both the ISU Creative Works Symposium and the Southwest Regional Society for Developmental Biology Conference. Mya was recently accepted into the IDEP Program for dental school which she will begin after graduation next month.
