Didactics / Lectures Overview

In addition to rotational learning, Rexburg Rural track has a structured didactics/lectures schedule, taught by a combination of faculty, community physicians, and other clinicians. The didactics/lectures will be teleconferenced from the Pocatello Family Medicine Conference room. They occur every lunch hour and every Thursday afternoon from 12:30pm to 5:00pm

Theme Month

Every month is dedicated to a specific topic. These topics include:

  • Cardiology
  • Respiratory
  • Gastroenterology
  • Dermatology
  • Neurology/Psychiatry
  • Endocrinology/Diabetes
  • Nephrology/Urology/Male Reproduction
  • Hematology/Immunology/Oncology
  • Pediatrics (twice per year)
  • Musculoskeletal/Rheumatology

 

Resident Support Didactics

As part of the Physician Wellness Program, there are two monthly meetings dedicated to this:

  • Intern Support Group
  • Balint Group

 

Residency Professionalism

Residents are included in Residency Committees and reccurring meetings:

  • GMEC (Graduate Medical Education Committee)
  • Resident-Faculty Meeting
  • Department Meeting
  • Curriculum Committee
  • Program Evaluation Committee
  • Medical Staff Quality Meeting
  • Infectious Control Committee at PMC
