Biographical Sketch
Liesel comes to ISU to join the Biology Learning and Teaching Lab with 8 years of high school biology teaching experience. She taught varying levels of high school biology in Washington DC, UT, VA, and MT. Her favorite thing about teaching is building strong relationships with students and seeing their "Ah, ha!" moments when they begin to love biology. Her master's degree research at MSU was titled, "Word Power! How Vocabulary Instruction Impacts the 10th Grade Biology Class." Liesel enjoys spending time with her husband, three young boys, and a golden retriever. Together they love to travel, try new foods, play sports, run, and watch college football.
