Thermal Conductivity Bars

Thermal conductivity bars next to a propane burner
PIRA: 4B30.30

Materials: Thermal Conductivity Bars, Very Hot Water, Beaker

This demo is to show how every material conducts heat at different rates. This is done by having water come to a boiling point then let it stop boiling. Then you hold the different metals inside the hot water. Over time the thermometers on the metals will become visible and you can see how each metal won't have the thermometer move at the same rate because each metal conducts heat at different rates. Works best in dim rooms.
