Molecular Motion Demonstrator

A box full of pieces for a molecular motion detector
PIRA: 4D10.10

Materials: Molecular Motion Demonstrator, 5 different sized particles, diffusion barrier, 2 barriers, solid liquid glass spherical dish, 3 D cell batteries, Overhead Projector

This demo is to show Brownian motion using different sized particles. This demo can show how particles move in solids and liquids using the spherical glass dish. It also has the ability to show confined gases and diffusion using the different barriers. The knob that adjusts the speed of vibration represents the temperature that the gas particles are experiencing. This demo has many ways of representing molecular motion so a student can see a representation of molecular motion in different situations.
