Ray Box with 2-D Lenses

Ray Box with 2-D Lenses
PIRA 6A60.05

The Cenco Raybox produces 1 - 4 parallel or diverging rays.  It comes with a variety of 2-D lenses, mirrors, and refractive surfaces (see picture at top left).  The ray box requires 12 V DC power.  The rays from the box are angled so that when the box is set on a surface, the rays are visible from the light that reflects off of the surface.  A table surface works well for small classes that can gather around a table.  For larger classes, a vertical surface, such as that shown in the picture at bottom left, works well.  The refraction of light through 2-D lenses and other refractive or reflective surfaces are clearly demonstrated, as shown in the pictures at far right.  A small glob of clay works well to hold the lenses and mirror in place.
