Burning a Candle at Both Ends

A candle on each end of a glass pane
PIRA 6A20.32

Trim a candle so that wicks extend from both ends.  Try to make the ends as identical as possible.  Bend one wick up and the other down, and clamp the candle horizontally at the center of curvature of aspherical mirror.  Light the upturned wick, and the real image of the flame will be visible on the other wick.

Be sure to lay a piece of paper or a towel below the candle to catch melted wax.
