Rattlebacks are an interesting toy with a strange behavior. Place the rattleback flat side up. When it is spun counterclockwise, the toy spins normally. When the rattleback is spun clockwise it will stop, rattle, and spin in the clockwise direction.This behavior is due to instabilities on the rattleback's rotational axes.
