Soap Bubbles and Van de Graaff

PIRA: 5A40.24

Materials: Bubble Gun, Metal Plate, Alligator Clips, Plate Stand, Styrofoam Pieces, Vandegraff

This demo is to show how water is very polar and that same charge repel one another. The vandegraff connects to the metal plate charging it up negatively, then you shoot the bubbles passed the plate. The bubbles will be slightly attracted to the plate then the ones that don't pop will bounce off at a fairly decent pace in the opposing direction. This is because the bubbles are repelled by the negative charge once they pick up extra negative charge from the plate.
