The magic lifter is essentially a large suction cup capable of lifting chairs and stools as long as there is a flat surface for it to grab onto. Point out that there is no adhesive of any kind; the only force available to keep the lifter stuck to a flat surface is the inward atmospheric pressure. Be cautious when lifting objects. If they are not centered, imbalances can take over, causing the lifter to slide to the edge and the seal to fail. Try not to crush any toes.
