Wrap the severed rubber band around the cup as many times as possible. Assume the firing position as shown in picture 3 and release the rubber band. The cups will do a loop in the air and glide slowly to the ground. This happens because the spinning cup drags air quickly around the upper portion of itself creating a low pressure zone.
