For this demonstration attach a deflated balloon and an inflated balloon to a meter stick as shown in the photo. It is important to note that the larger the inflated balloon is the greater the effect. The meter stick tilts to the side with the inflated balloon. The balance will lean toward the side with the inflated balloon due to the fact that the air inside the balloon is compressed and therefore more dense than the air around it.
