The ISU Mechanical Engineering Program supports several student organizations in terms of faculty support, equipment, student participation, etc.

 


 American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)

ASME is an organization with the purpose of broadening the horizons of all interested in Mechanical Engineering.

 National Society of Black Engineers

The purpose of the National Society of Black Engineers is to stimulate and develop students' interest in engineering, to strive to promote participation at all levels of responsibility in the field of engineering by black and minority students in the community, to endeavor in the advancement of black and minority professional engineers within the individual engineering disciplines and to increase the awareness and involvement of all university students from a diverse racial, cultural, ethnic and national background through issues that present an impact on the well being of all members.

 National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE)

The purpose of this club is to promote knowledge of science and engineering and to cultivate mutual acquaintance and good fellowship among students and between students and instructors, and to provide services when called upon in order to project a positive image of Engineering to the community.

This club helps promote women in engineering.
