Bachelor of Science in Health Science (BSHS) – Occupational Therapy concentration

The BS in HS Occupational Therapy concentration will prepare students to apply to a graduate program in occupational therapy. Graduate occupational therapy programs will accept a wide range of undergraduate degrees, but the B.S. in Health Science with the pre-occupational therapy concentration prepares the student for future practice in health care while efficiently including many prerequisite courses required by entry-level occupational therapy programs throughout the country. Students should check for specific requirements of the programs to which they intend to apply.

Bachelor of Science in Health Science (BSHS) – Accelerated Occupational Therapy concentration

The BS in HS Accelerated Occupational Therapy concentration area will prepare students to apply for early entrance into the ISU three-year Occupational Therapy Program. Students who are accepted for accelerated entry (competitive and limited number) will complete the first pre-professional year of the Occupational Therapy Program, while concurrently completing the 4th and final year of the B.S. in Health Science. Successful students would then complete two more years within the graduate Master of Occupational Therapy Program.

Bachelor of Science in Health Science (BSHS) – Emergency Medical Services concentration

The BS in HS Emergency Medical Services concentration area meets the needs of students who wish to pursue a bachelor’s degree with an emergency medical service focus. This concentration offers four different tracks. Leadership/Management focuses on the operation and management of the EMS agency. Education prepares students to teach in the EMS field. Clinical provides students with a curriculum that prepares them for graduate clinical programs such as Physician Assistant or Medical School. Community Paramedics provides paramedics with additional training to serve as community paramedics focusing on transitional care, prevention and wellness, and disease management in an effort to connect underutilized resources to underserved populations.

Bachelor of Science in Health Science (BSHS) – Health Occupations concentration

The BS in HS Health Occupations concentration area is intended for students enrolled in the College of Technology in a health occupations program. The objective of the Bachelor of Science in Health Science program with the associate degree emphasis is to allow students who have graduated or are enrolled in health occupations training at the level of an associate degree to pursue a bachelor's degree with an advanced general health science focus.
