Content purge

All inactive content is periodically purged from the system.

This includes:

  • media library items
  • content types
  • sections
  • all child sections of inactive sections

Once content is purged it can't be retrieved.

Media items

How to find inactive media

Inactive media library items have a red inactive tag as their status.

  1. Open your media folder(s)
  2. Change the display number to show 100 items
  3. Click the status column header twice to show inactive items first

 

How to save inactive media

  1. Open the media item by clicking on it
  2. Click Save changes

 

 

Content types

How to find inactive content types

Inactive content types have a red inactive tag as their status.

  1. Go to the Site Structure
  2. In the action menu of your home page, choose Expand all
    This will allow you to see all sections within the branch
  3. Next to the action menu, there are green, orange, and red ovals with numbers in them. If there is a number in the red oval, that is how many inactive content types are in that section.

 

How to save inactive content types

  1. Expire the content type
  2. Save and approve the content type

 

 

Sections

How to find inactive sections

Inactive sections have red text.

Inactive sections are labeled with red text

 

  1. Go to the Site Structure
  2. In the action menu of your home page, choose Expand all
    This will allow you to see all sections within the branch
  3. Inactive section will have red text

 

How to save inactive sections

  1. Create an Archive section
  2. Move the inactive section to the archive section
  3. Change the status of the inactive section to Pending

 

All the child sections of an inactive section will also be purged.

It is possible to permanently lose an entire branch if the parent section is inactive.
