Institute of Rural Health
The Institute of Rural Health, established in 1989, is a university-based research, education and service organization providing research, consultation and technical assistance to government and communities in the health field. Our work spans public health, health professions training, community programming and mental health areas. The IRH is housed in the Kasiska College of Health Professions at Idaho State University.
The Institute of Rural Health has grown rapidly in the past several years, maintaining offices in Pocatello and Meridian. The number of full-and part-time faculty, staff and students has grown from fewer than 10, during our first eight years, to nearly 70 in our 17th year. Our grant portfolio has grown to more than $19 million with an annual budget of $5.5 million.
