Kyunggeune (Ted) Oh received his Ph.D. in Applied Physiology, with a concentration in Biomechanics and a minor in Neuroscience, from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He earned his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Seoul National University. He subsequently completed postdoctoral training at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and the Kennedy Krieger Institute, followed by the Institute for Robotics & Autonomy at the University of Tulsa. Prior to pursuing his doctoral studies, Dr. Oh worked for approximately five years as a robotics engineer, contributing to the development of humanoid, rehabilitation, and surgical robotic systems.
His research focuses on multi-joint motor control and the biomechanical and sensorimotor mechanisms underlying human movement. His broader research interests include neurobiomechanics, rehabilitation engineering, medical devices and wearable technologies, and human–robot interaction, with applications in neurological rehabilitation, balance, gait, and upper-extremity motor control. He uses motion capture, electromyography, immersive virtual reality, and robotic systems to assess motor function and develop evidence-based rehabilitation strategies and assistive technologies.
