Physical Education Teaching Major

The Human Performance and Sport Studies department at Idaho State University offers a baccalaureate degree in Physical Education with a teaching emphasis. In completing the program, candidates will gain the skills necessary to become qualified Physical Education teachers.
B.S. Physical Education, with a Physical Education Emphasis

- Physical Education Core (9 credits)
- Teaching Emphasis (41 credits)
- Objective 1: Develop teaching skills in a variety of physical activities (10 credits)
- Objective 2: Understand the basic foundations of human activity (10 credits)
- Objective 3: Develop skills required for teaching physical education (9 credits)
- Objective 4: Understand and develop general pedagogical skills and teacher effectiveness (14 credits)
(Completed by K-12 Teacher Certification in Physical Education)
