Recognized for Quality

In 1978, the Idaho State University College of Business became the first  business school in the state of Idaho to receive accreditation from the  international Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business  (AACSB).

The AACSB represents “the longest serving global association dedicated to  advancing management education worldwide,” and accredits less than five  percent of  schools granting business degrees in the world.  The College of Business’ accounting program is also separately accredited as one of only 189 schools holding both accounting and business accreditation.

Flexible BBA

The flexible BBA is a unique opportunity for College of Business students to easily double major in management, marketing, economics or finance taking few to no extra courses.

Hands-On Learning

DA Davidson Investment Fund

Each year, DA Davidson & Co contributes $50,000 to a stock portfolio for student teams in 19 different schools to manage. Students spend the semester managing and monitoring the funds. Schools that generate a positive return on the investment also get to share in the profits.

CFA Investment Challenge

The Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation is known, globally as the highest certification for financial professionals. Each year the CFA hosts an international research competition challenging student teams to analyze and report on a stock portfolio. The challenge requires students to exhibit an in-depth understanding of financial, economic and accounting concepts as they research, test and report on their findings to a panel of CFA judges.

Stock Picking Contest

As part of the Finance Association, students have the opportunity to gain experience managing a stock portfolio without the risk of handling real funds. This contest takes place over the course of five months and allows students to manage $1 million in virtual money in a simulated stock market. Students are able to make their investment decisions based on current stock trends and news. After the five months, students are awarded with cash for their performance.
