Free Classes for Faculty & Staff
We support ISU Faculty and Staff! Even if you’re not a gym member, you can join our group fitness classes:
- Present your Bengal ID at the Recreation Center front desk
- Enjoy free access to drop-in group classes
Note: This offer applies to group fitness classes only and does not include general gym use.
No group fitness classes over Winter Break, December 22-January 2.
We'll resume classes with a modified schedule the week of Jan. 5 and start the full spring schedule Monday, Jan. 12.

Cycle & Tone
A high-energy mix of cycling intervals and strength training using weights, bands, or bodyweight exercises. Perfect for building endurance and toning the whole body.
Spinning
Ride brand-new Matrix bikes in a motivating, music-driven session. Expect intervals, hills, sprints, and surges—all low-impact and calorie-burning.
Total Body Conditioning
This high-energy class combines HIIT, bodyweight strength, and cardio, all driven by motivating music. Expect bursts of explosive movement paired with strength and isometric exercises to challenge your arms, legs, core, and glutes while keeping your heart rate up.
UpBeat Lift
Strength training meets music. Heavy-weight supersets and endurance drop sets target all major muscle groups in a supportive group setting.
UpBeat Pilates
A faster-paced, energetic Pilates class that targets every muscle group. Incorporates breathwork, control, and occasional props like weights or bands.
Yoga
Beginner-friendly practice blending slow flow and unique poses. Emphasizes mindful movement, breath connection, and relaxation. Mats and props provided.
Yoga Core
Combines Hatha yoga with Pilates-inspired core strengthening. Expect flowing sequences, stretches, and targeted ab, back, and glute work.
Zumba
A dance fitness party with Latin and global beats. Easy-to-follow, fun, and effective cardio that feels more like dancing than exercise.
Our group fitness instructors bring energy, experience, and a passion for helping you move. Each has unique training and certifications to ensure safe, motivating, and inclusive classes for every participant.
- Joni – AFAA Group Fitness certified with 13 years of experience teaching Zumba®, POUND®, STRONG Nation®, and more. She values community, fun, and helping participants reach their full potential.
- Sally – Certified in Yoga (200-hour YogaRenew), Nia Blue Belt, and Tai Chi. Her classes combine strength, flexibility, and mindfulness for a balanced, supportive practice.
- Molly – Licensed Zumba® instructor since 2015. She creates a welcoming, fun environment where anyone can dance, gain confidence, and enjoy movement.
- Joseph– Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist with 5+ years of personal training experience. Currently in ISU’s DPT/MSAT program, he focuses on strength, confidence, and sustainable fitness.
- Ann – Certified through Mind Your Body Studio. She teaches “yoga for everybody,” blending Hatha, Yin, and Iyengar styles to promote stretch, flow, and accessibility.
- Stephlynae – Certified UpBeat Pilates and UpBeat Lift instructor. She brings high-energy classes that combine strength, flow, and fun.
- Katelyn – ISU Exercise Science student passionate about HIIT, strength, and cardio. She leads motivating B.E.A.S.T. workouts designed to challenge and inspire.
- Jesse – Yoga instructor since 2011 with 200-hour certification. Her classes emphasize connection of breath and movement, fostering space, ease, and well-being.
