Max Out Fridays

Max Out Fridays are open to all currently enrolled ISU students and gym members. 

This event is an opportunity for participants to test their one-repetition maximum (1RM) in select powerlifting movements in the following lifts:

  • Bench
  • Squat
  • Deadlift

During each session:

  • Staff will be present to manage the flow, ensure safety, and provide guidance
  • Participants will warm up, progress through attempts, and test lifts in an organized format
  • Final results will be recorded and verified
  • Lifting results will be added to an official Max Out Friday leaderboard.

Participants may arrive at any point during the event window and will be worked into the lifting rotation.

All sessions are held at Reed Gym inside the Recreation and Wellness Center, in the Functional Fitness Room, which is equipped to safely support structured strength testing.
