ISU engineering Professor/CAES Fellow Mustafa Mashal receives 2020 Alfred Noble Prize from the American Society of Civil Engineers

POCATELLO – Idaho State University civil and environmental engineering Associate Professor and Center for Advanced Energy Fellow Mustafa Mashal has been honored with the 2020 Alfred Noble Prize for being the lead author on the paper “Low-Damage Seismic Design for Accelerated Bridge Construction,” which appeared in the Journal of Bridge Engineering, July 2019.

ISU Benny’s Pantries receive $10,000 from Albertsons Companies Nourishing Neighbors Program

POCATELLO – Idaho State University’s Benny’s Pantry, with locations in Pocatello, Meridian and Idaho Falls – has received a $10,000 donation from the Albertsons Companies Nourishing Neighbors Program that will help approximately 400 ISU students and their families.

POCATELLO – Idaho State University senior Kennalee Orme from Rexburg won second place for her research poster at the POLY Industrial Advisory Board sponsored Undergraduate Research in Polymer Science Symposium at the national meeting of the American Chemical Society this summer.

ISU chemistry Professor Jenkins lands $308k NSF grant to use waste sulfur to remove contaminants from wastewater, create greener glues

POCATELLO – Each year worldwide about 150 billion pounds of elemental sulfur waste is produced from refining crude oil and Idaho State University chemistry Assistant Professor Courtney Jenkins, assisted by a team of ISU undergraduate students, is trying to create functional materials from it.
