Youth Mental Health First Aid Course April 12, 2019

March 20, 2019 - POCATELLO, ID

We are pleased to invite you to attend and participate in a Youth Mental Health First Aid Training, available to Idaho community members at no cost.  This meeting will be held on Friday April 12, 2019 from 8:00 am- 4:30 pm Mountain Standard Time (MST), at Southeastern Idaho Public Health in Pocatello, Idaho.

This event is brought to you by the Health Resources and Services Administration’s (HRSA) Region 10 Office of Regional Operations. This is the first time HRSA has offered this training in Southeastern Idaho.  The training will be taught by a certified Mental Health First Aid instructor.  By attending this training, participants will be provided a Mental Health First Aid USA Participant Manual and will learn risk factors and warning signs for mental health and addiction concerns, strategies for how to help someone in both crisis and non-crisis situations, and where to turn for help.  Just as CPR helps you assist an individual having a heart attack, Mental Health First Aid helps you assist someone experiencing a mental health or substance use-related crisis.  Participants will be taught about recovery and resiliency – the belief that individuals experiencing these challenges can and do get better, and use their strengths to stay well.  If this training sounds of interest to you, please register using the link below.
