Step 5) Use Read&Write with E-Texts

Read&Write is a digital program that allows you to have your E-Texts read out loud. Read&Write is completely free to ISU students. Listed below are resources for Read&Write that include support for installation and training support.

In order to use Read&Write please follow the steps of the Read&Write Installation Guide. Read&Write is free for ISU students. 

 

The PDF Aloud Tool

Use the PDF tool to read any kind of PDF (the most common version of E-Text) including PDF versions of your books that our office may send you. Please watch the video instructions for additional support.

The Speech/Play Tool

This tool is used for reading most text on your screen (i.e. websites, word processors such as Microsoft Word, etc.). Please watch the video instructions for additional support.  

The Screenshot Reader Tool

This is a backup tool when the two tools above can't read the text on your screen. Please watch the video instructions for additional support.   

 

For one-on-one support with installing or training on Read&Write, Please schedule a meeting with one of our tech trainers. You can schedule a meeting with a tech trainer via our front office by:
