How to Rent a Locker - Choose a Locker Location

Patrons should choose a locker (or a locker range). Look for empty lockers with a black combination lock. Campus Recreation provides lock combinations. Do not pick a locker in the day use area.

Rental Expiration – for annual and semester locker rentals:

  • Fall rentals expire December 31.
  • Spring rentals expire May 15.
  • Summer rentals expire August 31.
    • For example, a locker rented in March for a year will not expire in March; it will expire at the end of the semester in May, August, or December.
  • Renew locker rentals within one week of expiration date.
    • Campus Recreation makes herculean efforts to contact renters about expiration and cleanout dates, but ultimately, it is the responsibility of the renter to renew their locker on time or remove the contents.
    • Locker content retrieval fee is $10.
    • Contents from expired and day use lockers will be cleared out by Campus Recreation, held for 90 days, and then donated to charity.

Day Use Lockers

  • Day use lockers are available throughout the Student Rec Center and Reed Gym men’s and women’s locker rooms at no charge.
  • Patrons will need to bring their own lock to utilize day lockers in the Reed Gym locker rooms.
  • Most of the Rec Center’s day use lockers have keyless locks and are available on a first come, first serve basis.
  • Contents of day lockers will be cleared nightly.

General Locker Policies

  • Locker rentals are non-refundable. Lockers cannot be changed once they are rented out. Please make sure you know WHERE you want your locker to be before renting.
  • Campus Recreation is not responsible for the contents of rental or day use lockers
  • Campus Recreation has the authority to enter your locker at any time for reasons such as maintenance or emergencies. We will attempt to give prior notice to the renter if their locker needs to be entered.
  • Any damage to a locker will be charged to the renter.
  • Do not leave items unlocked or unattended in the gym, locker, or shower areas.
  • Special events, maintenance projects, and athletic contests may necessitate locker areas to close. Campus Recreation will do our best to post signage regarding locker room closures.
  • The following items are not permitted in lockers or locker areas:
    • Flammable substances
    • Firearms or weapons
    • Explosives
    • Alcohol or controlled substances

Can I use my own lock on my rented locker?

Personal locks are permitted on day use lockers only. For annual and semester rentals, Campus Recreation provides the combination to the lock already on a locker. Use of a personal lock permitted as a formal disability accommodation. If you need an accommodation to utilize gym and locker room facilities, please contact the Campus Recreation Business Office or University Disability Services.
