  • Mohammed has been a proud member of Staff Council since 2024. He serves as Staff Council President, a role he is truly thrilled and honored to take on. 
  • Mohammed’s dedication, integrity, and positive spirit make him an invaluable member of our community—deeply respected and appreciated by all. He has been a valued employee at ISU for several years and works in the Environmental Health, Safety, and Sustainability department.
  • For Mohammed, the ISU campus has become his second home. He began his journey at ISU as a student employee, balancing work shifts between classes. Through dedication and perseverance, he earned two bachelor’s degrees and a master’s degree, giving him the opportunity to experience ISU from many different perspectives. Being able to contribute professionally to the same community that helped shape him is a full-circle moment—one he never takes for granted.

  • Outside of work, Mohammed enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and exploring new places. Some of his hobbies include playing soccer at Bartz Field, working on cars, and playing FIFA on PlayStation.

  • Marty is Staff Council Past-President and in his last year serving on the Council. He enjoys connecting with all of the diverse people across campus who help our University thrive. He is passionate about supporting staff by bringing their ideas to the forefront and helping to make their time at ISU meaningful.
  • Marty is an ISU alum, earning his AAS in CADD in 2013. He began his career at ISU in 2022 when he joined Facilities as a Project Manager. Now serving as a Senior Project Manager, Marty oversees projects not only on the Pocatello campus, but also in Idaho Falls and Meridian. His leadership and dedication make him a highly valued member of the team.
  • Marty has a deep love and appreciation for all kinds of music. Whether he's vibing at concerts or at home, music is a constant source of joy in his life. He is a passionate supporter of local musicians and the local music scene. Outside of music, Marty enjoys cooking, with carnitas being his signature dish. He also loves spending time in nature, especially hiking and relaxing by peaceful mountain creeks.

  • Stormi wanted to join Staff Council because she is passionate about contributing to a positive work environment and fostering stronger connections throughout the university. She is especially interested in process improvement and believes that building relationships across campus can help create more effective professional development opportunities for staff.

  • Stormi is committed to giving staff members a strong voice, ensuring their ideas are heard and valued. She also hopes to increase awareness of the important role Staff Council plays in shaping a supportive and thriving workplace for the entire university community.
  • Stormi is an Administrative Assistant II for the Pharmacy Practice and Administrative Sciences department of the College of Pharmacy.
  • In her free time, Stormi enjoys spending time with her daughter and cute Boston Terrier. She also enjoys doing crafting and photography.

  • Mandy was eager to join Staff Council because she wants to contribute her time and support to making beneficial changes for ISU staff. She believes that this is a pivotal time for our voices to be heard, especially with potential shifts in government policies that could affect the university. She wants to assist the council navigate these and other changes to help ensure that ISU remains a positive and supportive place for all staff.

  • Mandy strongly believes in inclusivity, equality, and acceptance. She feels that serving on Staff Council will allow her to further develop her leadership abilities, which she can use to better serve both her department and the wider ISU community.

  • An alumna of Idaho State University, Mandy graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2019 with an AAS in Administrative Management. She currently works as an Office Services Supervisor for Facilities Services, where she enjoys helping everyone at the front desk and catching up with colleagues by the water cooler. She takes care of all the office plants and loves propagating new baby plants for people to take with them.
  • In her free time, Mandy values relaxing and spending quality moments with her two sons. She also enjoys camping, vanilla lattes, and tackling home improvement projects. She likes to attend symphonies, theater performances, and concerts. An animal lover at heart, Mandy cares for her five rescue cats.

  • Rick is honored to serve as a representative on Staff Council. With several years of experience at ISU, he has gained valuable insight into the diverse needs and challenges faced by university staff. Throughout his time at ISU, he has built strong relationships across campus and developed a broad understanding of how different departments operate and collaborate.

  • Rick is committed to advocating for staff concerns, improving communication across campus, and supporting initiatives that enhance the ISU work environment. He is dedicated to representing the voices of all staff members and working collaboratively with university leadership to strengthen the ISU community.
  • Rick works as an Instructional Designer in the Instructional Technology Resource Center. Known for his outgoing personality and sense of humor, Rick is someone who gets along well with everyone he works with.
  • Rick lives in Pocatello with his husband and their two beloved bully-breed dogs. In his free time, he enjoys listening to vinyl records, spending time on his computer, and watching horror movies and anime.

  • Jules was inspired to join Staff Council because she has seen firsthand the importance of community and the strong sense of belonging that ISU employees work hard to create. As a staff member, she has consistently felt valued as part of the Bengal family and recognized for the hard work and talent she brings to ISU. She hopes to bring that same sense of appreciation and support to her role on Staff Council.

  • Jules is eager to contribute her unique experiences and perspectives on matters affecting campus life. She is passionate about supporting issues related to students, staff, faculty, education, and campus resources, and she looks forward to serving and advocating for the ISU community through Staff Council.

  • Jules has been with ISU since 2021, starting as a Student Dispatcher with Public Safety. In 2023, she transitioned to her current role as the Military Education Benefits Coordinator in the Office of the Registrar. A lifelong learner, Jules recently earned her M.A. in Sociology with a concentration in Criminology, and she plans to begin graduate certificates in Anthropology in Fall 2025.
  • Outside of work, Jules values time with her community—both family and chosen family—and enjoys connecting with people from diverse backgrounds. She loves to travel and hopes to explore Europe in the near future. A creative spirit, Jules dabbles in many art forms, with writing being her favorite. She shares her home with two mischievous and beloved cats, Munchie and Socks, who keep life interesting—especially when defying gravity or demanding cuddles at 2 AM.

  • Annie chose to serve on Staff Council because of her strong investment in ISU and her belief in servant leadership. During her time on the Council, she has truly enjoyed the opportunity to serve the university community. Helping plan activities, meeting with administrators and staff, and promoting Bengal Spirit have allowed her to grow personally while deepening her own Bengal Pride.

  • Annie brings a unique approach to leadership by advocating for staff needs within university governance and helping create engaging and enjoyable activities for staff. She finds great fulfillment in serving others through Staff Council, staying informed about university initiatives, and contributing to policy discussions and campus events.
  • Annie is a Grant Project Coordinator at the Institute of Rural Health, where she works with the Idaho HealthCorps AmeriCorps program.
  • Annie recently earned her MPA degree and is proud of all her hard work paying off. In her free time, she enjoys reading, watching classic Hollywood movies, crafting, and cheering on her daughters as they play sports.

  • Julie recently began her last year back with Staff Council. She previously served a six-year term that concluded in 2020, during which she held the role of Staff Council President for those final three years.
  • Julie works in the IT department, specifically supporting the university’s 17 health clinics. She has been a proud member of Idaho State University since 2010.
  • In her free time, Julie enjoys playing video games with her husband—whom she met online before it was mainstream—and loves to spend time crocheting.

  • Being an ISU student and an ISU staff member, Mikayla feels fortunate to have gained a unique perspective on how the university functions and how its work impacts the entire campus community. She believes that Staff Council is an invaluable resource for supporting staff welfare and advancing initiatives that strengthen and improve the ISU community.

  • Mikayla is passionate about helping create a better workplace and believes that serving fellow staff members is an important part of that effort. With experience leading volunteer groups, coordinating events, and implementing new programs, she feels her skills would contribute well to Staff Council and its committees. She believes that by working together collectively, ISU can continue to grow into the ideal workplace for all employees.

  • Mikayla is the Administrative Assistant for Maintenance and Operations and has been with ISU for four years. An ISU alumna, she graduated in 2020 with a degree in Global Studies.
  • A proud Idaho native, Mikayla enjoys spending time outdoors in the garden or indoors crafting. Her true passion is food—both cooking and eating—and she’s always happy to swap recipes. She’s also up for a good cup of coffee and a chat with her fellow Bengals and friends anytime.

  • Lorie wanted to join Staff Council because she is passionate about using her voice to support and advocate for ISU staff. Through her interactions with colleagues, she has heard many concerns and ideas that inspired her to think about meaningful ways to help address workplace challenges.

  • Some of the issues that Lorie is especially interested in include strengthening connections among employees in similar roles—particularly Administrative Assistants—improving communication with custodial units who work different schedules, supporting healthier work-life balance, and encouraging greater sustainability efforts across campus.

  • Lorie believes that being on Staff Council is a meaningful opportunity to bring her passion for helping others, strong problem-solving abilities, and positive energy to serve the university community beyond her role within ISU.

  • Lorie works in the Chemistry Department as the Laboratory Materials Supervisor—also known as the Stockroom Manager. In addition to managing lab materials, she serves as the department's Safety Liaison and is affectionately known as the “plant lady,” thanks to the many plants she nurtures throughout the building.
  • Lorie’s happy place is the outdoors. She enjoys walking and hiking, often stopping to take in the beauty of nature. In the winter, she loves to ski. A passionate reader, Lorie gravitates toward works by Maya Angelou, Matt Haig, and is a longtime fan of Dune—well before it hit the big screen. She’s also a fan of classic murder mystery shows like Columbo, Perry Mason, and Sherlock Holmes. When it comes to sci-fi, she proudly claims her Star Trek allegiance—according to every quiz, she’s a Klingon.

  • Alesha was inspired to join Staff Council because she wants to help staff and departments improve and grow together. She believes that everyone plays an important role in positively impacting the lives of ISU students and that this is best achieved when employees feel supported and valued by the university. She strongly believes in equality within the workplace and is committed to contributing to solutions that address challenges and promote positive change across the organization.

  • Alesha serves as the Director of the ISU Craft Shop in the Student Union Building and has been part of the ISU community for over ten years.
  • Alesha loves spending time with her husband and their three teenage boys. A passionate crafter, her main obsession is pottery, which she sells at art fairs throughout Idaho. She is also an active member of several local art councils.

  • Lance serves as a Lieutenant with ISU Public Safety, overseeing the campus and ensuring the safety of everyone. His dedication is highly valued, and in 2022, he received the Be a Bengal Award for Trust.
  • In his free time, Lance enjoys spending time outdoors. He loves exploring the mountains on his 4-wheeler, camping, and fishing. He also tends to a herd of Scottish Highlander cows, which keeps him quite busy.

  • Robin wanted to join Staff Council because of her strong commitment to supporting ISU staff, her coworkers, and the campus community. She enjoys being actively involved and helping make ISU and the surrounding community a better place. A dedicated supporter of ISU in every sense, she frequently volunteers her time to assist with campus events, including Commencement and Track and Field activities.

  • Robin brings extensive volunteer experience that would benefit Staff Council. She is actively involved with several respected community organizations. She plays an important role in supporting the United Way and helping organize the United Way campaign on the ISU campus. She is also involved with Portneuf Valley Partners and values its mission of creating growth, opportunity, and beauty within the community. She looks forward to contributing those same goals of growth, opportunity, and positivity through her service on Staff Council.

  • Robin works at the Counseling and Mental Health Center and loves being part of the supportive community at ISU, working closely with both staff and students.

  • Robin enjoys living in the Pocatello area and describes it as a wonderful place to be. She loves spending time outdoors—whether she’s running on local roads or exploring new trails. In her downtime, she enjoys reading and spending quality time with her friends, family, and her dog, Amber.

  • Niquelle was inspired to join Staff Council because she has grown to truly love ISU and values working in an environment where people are dedicated to personal growth and helping others achieve things they may not have thought possible. She is deeply grateful for all she has learned during her time at the university and appreciates being part of such a supportive community. After serving temporarily on Staff Council, she is excited for the opportunity to contribute in a greater capacity as a full member and continue supporting the staff and community of ISU.

  • A Southeast Idaho native, Niquelle spent several years in Provo, Utah, where she earned her undergraduate degree from BYU. She later returned to Idaho to begin her career at ISU and is currently pursuing her MBA, with plans to graduate this coming spring.
  • 2024 was especially memorable for Niquelle—she met her husband, Sam, at a church event, and the two were married. A lifelong runner, she has completed numerous races, including three marathons—one of the highlights being the Boston Marathon. In her free time, she enjoys camping, hiking, playing sports, and spending quality time with family and friends.

  • Khalil was interested in serving on the Staff Council because he truly values the important role that staff play in supporting the university every day. Staff are at the heart of keeping things running smoothly, and he appreciates the opportunity to help represent their voices and experiences.
  • Khalil was born and raised in Afghanistan, where he began his professional journey working with the United Nations in Kabul after graduating from high school. In 2007, he moved to the United States to pursue higher education at Idaho State University.

  • Before joining Idaho State University’s International Programs Office in 2016, Khalil served in several roles across the university, building extensive experience and fostering strong relationships within the campus community. He later earned a Master’s degree in Political Science from Idaho State University.

  • As an International Faculty and Scholar Advisor, Khalil works closely with international employees and visiting scholars, guiding them through immigration processes and supporting their transition to life and work in the United States. He is dedicated to creating a welcoming and supportive experience for the international community at ISU.

  • Khalil is passionate about the transformative power of higher education and the opportunities it creates for individuals and communities alike. Outside of work, he enjoys exploring Idaho’s outdoors, reading, sharing coffee with friends and colleagues, and spending quality time with his family.

  • This is Zach’s last year serving on the Staff Council. In his first year, he served as a Member-at-Large and contributed to the Call to Projects Committee.
  • Zach works in Student Union Maintenance within the Division of Student Affairs, where he is a very dedicated and appreciated part of the team.
  • A self-proclaimed "rock nerd," Zach enjoys hiking and often returns with a pocket full of unique rocks. In his free time, he likes spending time with his dog, watching music videos, and relaxing in his backyard when the weather is nice.

  • Micheal is the Assistant Director of Facilities Operations for the Idaho Falls campus. He enjoys contributing to a wide range of initiatives that engage both the campus community and the public. Whether it's student events, high school outreach, or community programs, he actively participates in efforts that support the university’s mission at multiple levels.

  • Tate was motivated to join Staff Council by his deep respect and appreciation for his fellow ISU staff members and his desire to represent and support them. During his time at ISU, he has had the opportunity to work with staff members across the university and has seen firsthand how many of ISU’s essential operations depend on the dedication and hard work of employees who often go unrecognized.

  • Tate believes that the success of both students and the university relies on retaining the knowledgeable and hardworking staff who help keep ISU running every day. He is passionate about ensuring staff members feel recognized, valued, and supported while continuing to make ISU an outstanding place to work.

  • Tate works as an Academic Advisor for the College of Arts and Letters, where he makes a meaningful impact through his mentorship and steadfast support of students. In recognition of his dedication, Tate was honored as the Grand Winner of the 2024 Be a Bengal Hope Award at the Be a Bengal reception in the spring of 2025.
  • During his free time, Tate enjoys listening to audiobooks while going for relaxing walks with his dog.

  • Toni ran for Staff Council because she wants to support the university and all the dedicated people who make it such a great place to work. She strives to stay actively involved in many of her department’s activities, and believes that experience will allow her to contribute positively and effectively to Staff Council. 

  • Toni has been with Idaho State University since September 2022 and is currently completing her degree in Finance. She also holds certificates in Massage Therapy, Scandinavian Mobilization Therapy, and Travel Education. Toni brings a diverse background in customer service, auto parts, bookkeeping, accounts receivable and payable, sales, and inventory management. She truly enjoys her work and the team that she has the privilege of working with each day.
  • A native of Idaho, Toni is the proud mother of two sons and grandmother to one grandchild. She is passionate about dogs and animal rescue, and in her free time enjoys reading—particularly works by Dean Koontz—traveling, and spending time on or near the water.

  • Mindy loves ISU and values the opportunity to serve the university community on Staff Council while sharing the welcoming and supportive energy she has experienced throughout her time at the university.
  • During her years at ISU, Mindy has had the opportunity to work with and observe many different individuals across campus, from those working behind the scenes to those in more visible roles. These experiences have strengthened her ability to empathize with others and contribute to solutions that support the diverse voices that make up the ISU community.

  • Two of Mindy’s CliftonStrengths are Individualization and Developer. She feels that these strengths allow her to recognize and appreciate the unique qualities of each person, understand individual needs, and help cultivate the potential of others. With her wide range of interests and warm, engaging personality, she enjoys motivating and inspiring those around her and is passionate about supporting fellow staff members.

  • Ashley was interested in serving on the Staff Council because she cares deeply about the future of higher education and the well-being of the staff who sustain it. In a time of ongoing change at both the university and state level, she believes it is more important than ever that staff voices are actively represented, heard, and valued in institutional conversations.
  • Ashley began her journey at Idaho State University in 2009 as an undergraduate student, earning both her Bachelor of Arts in Social Work and Master of Public Administration from ISU. In 2015, she started her professional career at the university as an Admissions Advisor before transitioning to the College of Business in 2019 as an Academic Advisor. In early 2024, she stepped into her current role as Assistant Director of Student Services for the College of Business.

  • As an East Idaho native, first-generation college student, and proud ISU alumna, Ashley is passionate about supporting students and helping them achieve their goals throughout their academic journey.

  • Outside of work, Ashley and her husband, Adam, enjoy spending time with their two-year-old son, Finley, and their sweet lab, Willa. As a family, they love cooking together and spending time outdoors gardening, hiking, camping, and exploring new places. Ashley also enjoys coffee, scary movies, and visiting museums.

  • Amy was interested in serving on Staff Council because she wants to contribute to a workplace where employees feel heard, supported, and empowered to do their best work. She sees the Council as a connection between staff and leadership. She wants to ensure communication is transparent, concerns are addressed thoughtfully, and positive changes are driven by real employee experiences.

  • Amy has been with Idaho State University for just over a year and currently works with the Graduate School of Nursing on the Meridian campus. Outside of work, she enjoys volunteering with various organizations throughout the Treasure Valley and spending time camping with friends and family. She is married with two children and one dog, and she enjoys staying active and involved. She has a passion for organization and loves creating detailed itineraries to keep things running smoothly.

  • Evan is excited for the opportunity to serve as a member of Staff Council and greatly appreciates the service Council members provide to the university community. Throughout his life, he has enjoyed serving in a variety of leadership roles and values the opportunity to make a positive impact through collaboration, leadership, and relationship-building. He is honored to bring his leadership experience and commitment to service to Staff Council while continuing to build meaningful connections across the ISU community.

  • Evan is a proud ISU alumnus, holding both an MBA and a BBA in Accounting. He works in the Division of Finance, providing finance and accounting support to the Division of Research and the College of Science and Engineering.
  • Evan and his amazing wife are parents to four wonderful children. Together, they enjoy spending time outdoors kayaking, hiking, and biking. Evan values his family, faith, and freedom. In his free time, he enjoys coaching individuals and families to achieve their financial goals.

 Alaska Programs Coordinator | College of Pharmacy - Anchorage, Alaska

  • Mara joined Staff Council because she cares deeply about the ISU community and believes in building a strong, supportive environment where every staff member feels heard and valued. She brings valuable experience from her previous role as Chair of the College of Pharmacy's Staff Council, a position she held for two years. She continues to serve as a resource in that capacity.
  • Mara works in the College of Pharmacy as the Alaska Programs Coordinator at ISU’s Anchorage campus. She feels very fortunate to be able to work for ISU while living in Alaska.
  • Mara is an anthropologist by training and education, and she enjoys studying culture in her spare time. She loves reading about different cultures and also enjoys fiction. Her family owns two awesome Jeeps, which they use for off-road adventures and camping trips. They share their home with two young doodle dogs—one from a local breeder and the other a rescue. Life moves fast in their household, and they’re always on the lookout for a new trail to explore or a beautiful, secluded spot to camp.
