Navigating Idaho's Opioid Epidemic: A Holistic Approach

Steven Pote, PhD

Dr. Pote completed his Master’s Degree in Community Counseling at Gonzaga University in 2010 and his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology at the University of Northern Colorado in 2016. He completed his doctoral internship at the Boise VA Medical Center in 2016 and his postdoctoral fellowship in professional geropsychology at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System in 2017.

Dr. Pote’s experience includes provision of psychological services in clinics for post-deployment adjustment, rural mental health, primary care-mental health integration, neuropsychological assessment, geriatric inpatient psychology, home-based primary care, and multi-site interprofessional consultation. His primary research interests are in subjective well-being, caregiver burden, late-life adjustment, and quality improvement of clinical services. While an integrative clinician, Dr. Pote’s underlying therapeutic orientation is cognitive-behavioral therapy.
