Navigating Idaho's Opioid Epidemic: A Holistic Approach

Marcia Witte, MD
Dr. Witte is board certified in internal medicine. She graduated from Princeton University with a bachelor’s degree in history and then lived in Costa Rica for several years. After returning to the United States, she attended the University of Washington School of Medicine. She was introduced to Idaho through the University of Washington Seattle/Boise primary care internal medicine residency program which brought her to the Boise VA Medical Center as a second-year resident and again as a Chief Resident. After completing her residency in 2004, she moved to McCall where she practiced internal medicine in both inpatient and outpatient settings. In 2017, she started working part-time in the Division of Public Health at the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare where she serves as a public health physician and works on various issues including opioid overdose prevention. She continues to engage in clinical work at St Luke’s McCall as a hospitalist and hospice medical director.
Dr. Witte is married and has two children. In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her family in beautiful McCall. She also served on the McCall City Council for many years.
