Navigating Idaho's Opioid Epidemic: A Holistic Approach

Magni Hamso, MD MPH

Dr. Hamso is a general internist at Terry Reilly Health Services and an Associate Program Director at the University of Washington - Boise Internal Medicine Residency based at the Boise VA.  Much of her clinical work is spent caring for individuals struggling with opioid use disorder.  She is a member of the State Behavioral Health Planning Council and the Drug Court and Mental Health Court Coordinating Committee, and volunteers with the Office of Drug Policy to teach prescribers, treatment providers, and community members about naloxone for reversal of opioid overdose.  She is also one of Health & Welfare’s “Physician Champions” for safe opioid prescribing.
