Support

As a public University, ISU is governed by the same laws as any other government body. That means that all members of our community enjoy the protections of the First Amendment. This freedom is essential, but it also has the potential to offend and even to hurt.

While the university cannot restrict these liberties, we offer many services to help students cope with the discomfort that the free and open exchange of ideas can bring. This section lists a series of resources where you can go to find support.

Campus Resources

Counseling Services – Offers free and confidential counseling services to enrolled ISU students. We provide short-term, goal-oriented counseling interventions and the majority of our clients meet their goals within the academic semester.

Health Center – Serves the healthcare needs of the campus community. We cover a variety of medical services for students, faculty, and staff incuding flu shots, check-ups, urgent care, and beyond.

Equity and Inclusion Office – Provides leadership and support in creating an equitable, diverse and inclusive working and learning environment for all in the ISU Community. We are comprised of the Gender Resource Center, Diversity Resource Center, and Native American Student Services the Equity and Inclusion Office

Scheduling and Event Services – Serves as a planning partner in scheduling, organizing, and executing events. We provide services and equipment for the Pond Student Union, Rendezvous meeting rooms, Quad Lawn, and Hypostyle areas.

Dean of Students – Supports and assists the ISU community with a focus on empowering students to succeed in navigating the University environment. The Dean of students works to connect students to resources to help them be both personally and academically successful.

Student Organizations – Works with students to create and develop organizations. With over 150 clubs ranging from academic to social and service to cultural we help students connect to one another and their interests.

Public Safety – Maintains a healthy and secure campus community. We are responsible for the enforcement of university rules and regulations. We are also available to assist the campus community with services such as vehicle jump starts, safety escorts across campus, and more.
