Verification Statement
The Verification Statement confirms that you have successfully completed a program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND®) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. It is an essential document for your professional journey. Graduates receive the original copy of your DPD Verification Statement.
How to Receive Your Verification Statement
The DPD Director issues Verification Statements after your graduation or program completion is officially posted by the University Registrar, verifying that all ACEND® requirements have been met.
-
Several copies of the Verification Statement, along with instructions for use, will be mailed to you via U.S. Postal Service.
-
Please ensure your preferred mailing address is up to date with ISU to receive this important mailing.
-
The Verification Statement includes original signatures from the DPD Director and must be kept in a safe place.
-
A signed copy is also retained indefinitely in your student file for record-keeping.
If you apply for a Dietetic Internship, submitting your Verification Statement is required as proof of your successful completion of the DPD program.
If you have already earned a bachelor’s degree or higher, you can earn a Verification Statement by completing the DPD prerequisites and professional courses with a grade of C- or better. Completion of ISU general education requirements may not be necessary. Earning a second bachelor’s degree is optional and not required to receive the Verification Statement.
