Per ISU Policy, if you have any of the following types of items they must be approved before distribution.

• Print materials for recruitment or marketing
• Digital and print advertisements
• External newsletters, magazines, annual reports.
• Event invitations that are distributed outside of the University
• Promotional items, swag
• Stickers
• Advertisements that use ISU-branded templates that have been altered
• Materials and promotional materials that are branded at the University level only 
• To an external audience, it appears as if the items are produced at the University level.
• Items will not have any college, department or unit identification.
• This may include flags, giveaway items or printed materials
• All items that refer in any way to President Satterlee specifically or the University president in general.
• Please contact Amy Rider at amyrider@isu.edu before creating the item.
• Any items that use the University seal.

How to request approval for a completed design

• Please allow two weeks for brand approval. 
• Please contact Kaylee McKay at kayleemckay@isu.edu early on in the process. She's always happy to help you with your design, can provide valuable feedback, and facilitate the approval process for you.
• Going through CAL Marcom ensures you get feedback and approval faster and avoids frustrating delays.

Logo Usage

Please refer to the ISU Logo Usage Guide for logo guidelines.

• The primary ISU marks and/or the deparmental level logos/CAL logo should be your go-to.
• If multiple departments are involved the primary ISU marks or the CAL logo should be used.
• To acknowledge sponsors your design can include a "sponsored by" line. 
• Do not modify logos or add text near the logo that will make it look part of the logo.
• For co-branding materials with logos of organizations outside of ISU please contact Kaylee.

Logos in Canva

In the Canva Side Panel when creating a design there are four side panel tabs that contain all our official logos:

• Spirit Marks
• Roar
• Bengal Heads
• Secondary Logos (This is where you will find your department logos sorted into folders)
