The Advising Community at Idaho State (AC@IS) is an allied member of the Global Community for Academic Advising (NACADA). Membership in NACADA is not required to be a member of AC@IS, but some advisors at Idaho State are members of both AC@IS and NACADA. NACADA members have access to a wide variety of advising resources through NACADA.

NACADA members in Idaho's higher education institutions are part of Region 8 and have access to the resources and opportunities available through Region 8.

From the NACADA Regions webpage:

"Serving all NACADA members through the facilitation of networking opportunities, professional development activities, and leadership opportunities, [NACADA's] ten regions are governed by elected officers who propose a variety of activities to support academic advisors, faculty advisors, and advising administrators within their geographic regions. Region members conduct annual conferences, local drive-ins, and develop programs which fit the needs of their specific region. Global members are invited to attend region activities which best suit their professional development requirements."

The Office of Academic Advising has resources to assist students and faculty/staff with advising information and processes as well as helpful links to connect us with resources across campus.

Idaho State University uses a hybrid advising model. The Office of Academic Advising provides centralized advising staff, resources and support. Academic units also house professional and faculty advisors in their departments across campus. In conjunction with AC@IS , the Office of Academic Advising provides training, support, and professional development for all advisors in any role across campus.

ISU Navigate links administrators, advisors, faculty, and students through a single platform, providing predictive analytics to facilitate communication and ensure early intervention in support of student persistence and success. This powerful interactive tool that will help us identify support gaps and reach out proactively on behalf of students before they reach a critical impasse in their academic journey.
