Work Study Positions
Reference Desk Student Assistant
Location: ISU Idaho Falls Library
Hours: 10-11 hours per week
Pay: $13.00/ hour, NO benefits
Not eligible for remote work Performs paraprofessional library work which may include the following:
- Helping library patrons (students, faculty and staff) at both the physical desk in Idaho Falls and the University Libraries chat service. This help may include helping identify sources, searching assistance, and referral to appropriate librarians.
- Assists the Idaho Falls Library and the larger public services unit with tasks such as statistics, searching title lists, data entry and other clerical work.
- Work hours are flexible but must be worked between 8 am and 5 pm Mon-Fri.
- Position works Fall and Spring semesters, only
Need:
- Excellent customer service skills
- Good communication skills

- Knowledge of Microsoft suite and/or Google suite
Preferred:
- COLLEGE WORK-STUDY AWARD.
- Experience in customer service

Supports the IT Service Desk by providing customer service and basic technology assistance to campus users. Students from all majors and a range of skill levels are encouraged to apply. On-the-job training is provided. Duties may include the following:
- Provide customer service and technology support to campus users.
- Assist with computer troubleshooting and basic technical issues.
- Help identify and resolve technology-related problems.
- Use critical thinking and problem-solving skills to assist users and address support needs.
- Work collaboratively with other IT Service Desk team members.
- Learn and apply IT troubleshooting and customer service practices through on-the-job training.
- Assist with other IT Service Desk duties as assigned.

Supports the daily operations of Benny's Pantry and assists students accessing pantry resources. Duties may include the following:
- Greet and check in pantry users and provide friendly, respectful customer service.
- Help students locate available food and other pantry items.
- Stock shelves and organize food and supplies to keep the pantry accessible and orderly.
- Receive, unload, and organize food and other pantry donations.
- Monitor food inventory and check expiration dates to ensure items are appropriately stocked and rotated.
- Maintain a clean and organized pantry environment.
- Track pantry usage, inventory, and other basic pantry data as needed.
- Lift and move boxes of food and supplies as part of regular stocking and inventory duties.
- Assist with other day-to-day pantry operations as assigned.

Provides customer service and information desk support to students, employees, and visitors at the ISU Idaho Falls campus. Duties may include the following:
- Staff the campus information desk and serve as a welcoming first point of contact for students and visitors.
- Greet students and visitors and answer general questions about the Idaho Falls campus.
- Direct students to the appropriate campus departments, services, and resources based on their needs.
- Provide customer service and assistance in person, over the phone, and through email.
- Give directions and help students and visitors navigate the Idaho Falls campus.
- Help students navigate ISU websites and systems to locate information and resources.
- Assist students with the Bengal Card process, including taking ID photos and helping students obtain their cards.
- Provide basic front-desk support and assist with other customer service duties as assigned.

Supports event setup, teardown, and equipment needs for events held throughout the ISU Idaho Falls campus. Duties may include the following:
- Set up and tear down tables, chairs, and other event equipment and materials.
- Arrange event spaces according to requested room layouts and setup instructions.
- Set up and take down audio/visual and event technology, including projectors, screens, microphones, and other equipment as needed.
- Move, transport, and organize event equipment and supplies throughout campus.
- Assist with changing room configurations before and after scheduled events.
- Work collaboratively with Event Services staff to ensure event spaces are set up correctly and on time.
- Lift and move tables, chairs, A/V equipment, and other event-related supplies.
